PARKS ADVOCACY IN SACRAMENTO
On August 5, Coastal Conservation Program Manager, Ben McCue, joined the California State Parks Foundation,NRDC, Surfrider, and other coastal advocates in Sacramento to testify on the threats to Border Field State Park. The legislature's oversight hearing reviewed threats to California state parks and highlighted the threats to three San Diego County State Parks- San Onofre, Anza Borrego, and Border Field.

Tijuana River Valley Clean-up Video
On June 7, 2008 over 200 residents from South San Diego came together to cleanup and restore the trails from the Tijuana River Regional Park. In the end, 2 tons of tires and 3-4 tons of trash were picked up. Every year, stormwater flows in the Tijuana River bring tons fo trash and hazardous materials into the Tijuana River Valley. For the first time, communties across the border came together for a common cause.
