
“MY MAN” SEA TURTLE CAMPAIGN HITS STRATOSPHERE AUDIENCE OF 100 MILLION AND COUNTING
Thanks to a partnership with Los Tigres del Norte, one of Latin America's most beloved
musical groups, icons with a social conscience, we just completed our 2005 "Tigres No
Comen Tortugas" Mexican tour to halt the urban consumption of sea turtle eggs and meat
in North America.
Our team of enthusiastic volunteers reached more than 200,000 fans in the most active
sea turtle "markets". The tour ended last weekend in Mexico City with two huge concerts
at the Auditorio Nacional, after concerts in Mexicali, Tijuana, Hermosillo, and Ciudad
Obregón.
This is opening up a new chapter in our ability to communicate with the main population
that can just say "NO" to eating sea turtle eggs and meat.
Tortugas and Sabado Gigante
And it gets even better: on Saturday June 11th, our celebrity spokes-model Dorismar
appeared on one of the most watched shows in the Hispanic world (and I mean globally)-
-Sabado Gigante, with Don Francisco, the "Johnny Carson" of Latin America. Wearing
sexy pajamas and holding a turtle, Dorismar asked men to stop obliterating the species
because they think that turtle eggs make them potent. She explained it’s only a myth. At
the end of her appearance Dorismar and Don Francisco asked men not to eat sea turtle
eggs.
Sabado Gigante has been certified by the 2003 Edition of the Guinness Book of World
Records as the world’s longest running variety show and reaches a global audience of
more than 100 million people in 42 countries.
