WILDCOAST recently completed the purchase of 7,432 acres of undisturbed coastline on the Valle de los Cirios Pacific Coast in central Baja California. The properties, located on a remote stretch of Pacific shoreline, are home to rolling coastal hills and deep canyons covered in Boojum trees, cardon forest, barrel cactus, and other unique desert flora. The protection of these properties connects existing WILDCOAST protected areas in the regino and establishes conserved coastal wildlife corridors from inland areas to the sea.

Since 2008, WILDCOAST has been working to protect key coastal areas of biological significance on the Valle de los Cirios Pacific Coast, including points, wetlands, and dune shoreline, through direct purchases and conservation easements. With these recent purchases, WILDCOAST has achieved the protection of 44,447 acres and 34 miles of coastline in the region.
