Thank you Televisa.com TVAzteca UnoNoticias MILENIO and EFE, between others for covering the event

Large-scale coastal marine ecosystem conservation is a front line strategy for both climate chanage mitigation and adaptation.

WiLDCOAST, in partnership with Mexico's National Comission for Protected Natural Areas (CONANP) is in the process of protecting 40,000 acres of mangroves (among the world's greatest carbon sequesterers) ,  through conservation concessions. Mangrove deforestation not only results in the release of stored carbon dioxide  into the atmosphere but also reduces future carbon sequestration.
