2nd Annual Tijuana River Action Month

The 2nd Annual Tijuana River Action Month consists of a series of stewardship and cleanup activities during September and October 2011 to benefit the Tijuana River Watershed. This period is critical since it is a very small window of opportunity between the end of the nesting season and the start of the rainy season to enter the river valley and remove as much ocean-bound trash as possible.

Tijuana River Action Month has two goals:

1.     To mobilize a record number of community volunteers and groups to protect, restore and become stewards of the Tijuana River through targeted activities and cleanups; and

2.     To recognize key efforts and investments by public and private agencies, nonprofits, and community groups to protect and restore the Tijuana River.

The Tijuana River Action Network is coordinating Tijuana River Action Month as an inclusive, bi-national effort whose success will depend on partnerships with many different groups and agencies.
