On September 28, 2011 WiLDCOAST, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and YMCA Camp Surf partnered to conduct a beach cleanup south of the Tijuana River Mouth. Youth volunteers from Clairbourne High School in Pasadena, CA helped remove over 1000 lbs. of trash from sensitive Least Tern and Snowy Plover habitat. More than 40 youth participated by piling the trash along the beach while Fish and Wildlif Service staff stacked it into the bed of their truck. Many thanks to all who participate, especially the volunteers, camp counselors and Brian Collins and Lisa Cox from USFWS!
