WiLDCOAST Officially Named as NGO Representative of City of Tijuana's Clean Beaches Committee

Today, October 25th, 2011 the City of Tijuana's Mayor Lic Carlos Bustamante declared the official convening of the Clean Beaches Committee of the City of Tijuana. This committee is responsabie for minimizing impacts to public health, reducing damages to the region's environmental health, and increasing overall beach and beach water quality of the Playas de Tijuana shoreline. The committee is formed by agencies from the local, state and federal level of the Mexican government and representatives from the private sector such as NGO's and the Academia. Among its members are representatives from the International and Boundary Water Commission (CILA, MEXICO), the States Public Services Agency of Tijuana, the Health Secretariat, the Navy, Secretariat of Environmental Protectiion, the National Water Commission and representatives from the public sector of which WiLDCOAST is now officially a part of.
