Forecasted rain likely to cause closure for Imperial Beach shoreline this weekend

The County's Department of Environmental Health has lifted the general advisory for all San Diego County beaches. A closure remains in effect for the south end of Imperial Beach due to sewage contaminated runoff from the Tijuana River. Winds blowing from North to South have prevented polluted water from moving north of the end of Seacoast dr.

Unfortunately forecasts predict over an inch and a half of rain over the weekend. This will likely cause a beach closure to take place for the entire Imperial Beach shoreline.
