WiLDCOAST benefit was a WiLD success

Last Saturday, January 21st Café Arábiga and Adobe Guadalupe hosted a benefit for WiLDCOAST / COSTASALVAjE in Ensenada, Baja California.

More than 70 guests tasted wine from some of the most important wineries in Baja California, participated in a silent auction of art pieces donated by local artists and ate delicious hors d’ouvres courtesy of Café Arábiga.  WiLDCOAST executive director Serge Dedina spoke of WiLDCOAST mission and inspired the attendees to contribute and be part of the solution, in our efforts to protect the most precious coastal and marine resources. Guests also enjoyed a photo exhibit of the peninsula’s coastal and marine resources, and live music by Grupo Tregua. Distinguished environmentalists, families, and general public had a wonderful time and learnt about our projects.

Luís Arriaga, owner and founder of Café Arábiga, along with other local artists donated jewelry and paintings for a silent auction.  Local producers of bread, cheese, wine and aromatherapy products also gave in kind donations.  All proceeds from the sale of these products were donated to COSTASALVAjE, WiLDCOAST’s Mexican Division.

WiLDCOAST would like to thank Luis Arriaga’s Café Arábiga, Tru and Don Miller’s Adobe Guadalupe Tru & Marci Plopper, Alejandro d’Acosta’s Casa de Piedra, Teresa Santiago’s Hogaza Hogaza and Marcelo Castro’s Ramonetti cheese for their generous in-kind donations. Thank you also to the wonderful artists and people that donated items for the silent acution: Alfonso Arámbula, Ester Gámez, Francisco Merino & Diana Alvarez. Eileen, Phil and Bella Gregory`s Hotel “La Villa del Valle,” and“Café Chloe.”

We would also like to thank all those who attended the benefit, without whose support, our efforts to conserve the Peninsula’s coastal and marine resources would be impossible.
