National Trails Day Cleanup a HUGE Success!

by Paloma Aguirre

On Saturday June 2nd over 40 volunteers joined WiLDCOAST and the Tijuana River Valley Equestrian Association for National Trails Day in the Tijuana River Valley.

Volunteers targeted a trail that connects the Beach and Saturn trails. This trail was so degraded and full of trash that many equestrians had not been able to use it since the last summer.

For about 3hrs volunteers helped remove the trash by hand and carried it to the trash bin in buckets and wheelbarrows. The total trash collected was approximately 11 TONS of trash!!

WiLDCOAST would like to thank the Tijuana River Valley Park Rangers, EDCO, the County of San Diego, the Chula Vista Learning Center, 4 Walls International and all the volunteers who came out and helped support this event.
