WiLDCOAST and a team of biologists, geologists and archeologists are wiping off the dust from a survey excursion deep into the Valle de los Cirios Pacific Coast of Baja California. Since 2008, WiLDCOAST has been working to protect the unique coastal ecosystems of the region through direct land purchases, conservation easements and management activities. Through several field trips a year to the isolated points, bays and wetlands, WiLDCOAST monitors its protected properties and surveys potential conservation opportunities. The team also meets with landowners, fish camp members and visitors to gauge their conservation interests and concerns. This trip was organized to evaluate the presence of archeological sites in the region and carry out biological surveys for wildlife endemism and distribution.
