Tijuana Wildlife Refuge Shoreline and Border Field State Park Beach CLOSED due to Sewage Contaminated Water

San Diego County's Department of Environmental Health has issued a closure for the Tijuana River Wildlife Refuge and Border Field State Park beaches  due to sewage contaminated runoff from the Tijuana River. A general advisory has been issued for all coastal waters in San Diego county due to urban runnoff caused by recent rainfall. To learn more about the processes behind a beach closure and how to protect your health participate in WiLDCOAST's Ocean Water Quality Workshop at the Tijuana Estuary visitor center on December 13, 2012 from 6-8pm where Department of Environmental Health and the City of Imperial Beach lifeguards will explain the protocol.
