More Bike Tours in the Otay Valley Regional Park!

Another great tour in the OVRP with important community partners.
Quick talk by Senior Park Ranger John Barone at the Ranger Station

Last week WILDCOAST cruised the Otay Valley Regional Park with Vivian Moreno of David Alvarez's office and Heyo Tjarks of River Partners.  We were able to see Pond 20, the western edge of the park and enjoy a talk by Senior Ranger John Barone when we stopped by the Beyer Blvd Ranger Station.  It was a beatuiful day in the OVRP and we discussed issues and challenges of managing an urban river parkway and the necessity for open space in the surrounding communities.

Vivian Moreno is commmunity representative for District 8 and was thrilled to see the OVRP by bike and discuss future projects in the region, which is located in Councilmember Alvarez's district.  Heyo Tjarks is the new Southwest Regional Manager for River Partners, an organization that restored the western edge of the OVRP, you can see the restoration in process at the western entrance to the park or from the Bayshore Bikeway.  Both are advocates of healthy, nature based recreation and loved riding through the park.
