Help WILDCOAST and SDPTA Clean Pond 20 This Saturday!

Take Coastal Conservation into Your Own Hands!
Abandoned shopping carts on Pond 20.

One of the main goals of our U.S. Mexico Border, Otay River Valley and South San Diego Bay conservation programs are to engage stakeholders and community members in stewardship activities.  Public participation and volunteer engagement is crucial to the maintenance of public open space areas such as the OVRP and the restoration areas of the south San Diego Bay, such as Pond 20.  WILDCOAST holds monthly cleanups and activities in the region and we encourage community members from San Diego to participate and take conservation into your own hands!

Some upcoming events you can participate in:

This Saturday August 24th we will be helping out the San Diego Port Tenants Association in their operation “Clean Sweep” which is a cleanup effort for the San Diego Bay involving local community groups and residents such as WILDCOAST, divers to cleanup under the surface in the bay, and boaters to pick up trash on the surface.  We will be meeting at their Pond 20 site this Saturday at 8 AM at Palm Ave. and 19th St., or at the Saturn Staging area for the OVRP.

We will be there with clean up supplies and everything we need to cleanup up Pond 20!  More information:

On Saturday September 21st, WILDCOAST will be hosting Coastal Cleanup Day in the Tijuana River Valley and the Otay Valley Regional Park.  Stay tuned for more details but mark your calendars for a day of stewardship and caring for our amazing coastal resources!

Hope to you see you there and stay tuned for more updates.
