Volunteers Needed for WATERMAN'S WEEKEND 2005

WiLDCOAST is looking for volunteers to help out our friends at SIMA with their yearly event known as Waterman's Weekend, which will take place in Dana Point, CA, Friday August 26 and Saturday August 27. This year they will honor ANDY IRONS - Waterman of the Year, CHRIS EVANS - Environmentalist of the Year and LARRY "FLAME" MOORE - Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Waterman’s Weekend is a two-day fundraising event that benefits the SIMA Environmental Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that awards grants to various environmental groups (including WiLDCOAST) based on their dedication to preserving and protecting the world’s oceans, beaches and waves. The weekend event begins with the Waterman’s Classic Golf Tournament and Luau, featuring live and silent auctions, which is now in it’s fifth year. The Waterman’s Ball and Auction reigns as the main event, which not only allows the surf industry and friends of the environment to raise money for important oceanic causes, but also honor and celebrate those making significant contributions in the industry with the prestigious annual Waterman of the Year, Environmentalist of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards. Waterman's Weekend is August 26th (Golf Tournament and Luau) and Waterman's Ball is August 27th.

The following is a tentative schedule of times/shifts people can volunteer for:

Golf Tournament (August 26th)

We need 60-65 people for the Golf Tournament and Luau

7am-12pm- Registration

8am -5pm- Golf Tournament (Hole Assignments, etc.)

4pm-9pm- Luau and Golf Tournament Wrap-up

Ball (August 27th)

We need 70-80 people for the Ball.

8am-12 noon- Ball Set-Up

3pm -11pm Ball/Auction

Please note that you can volunteer for as many shifts and days as wanted.
