Los Tigres del Norte se presentaron el pasado sábado 27 de Mayo en el Centro de Convenciones de San Diego, oportunidad que no podíamos desperdiciar. El staff de COSTASALVAjE junto con cinco voluntarios nos colocamos a la entrada del evento para mostrar a todos los fans de los Tigres nuestra nueva campaña “Defiende el Mar”, y entusiastas nos firmaron 150 cartas pidiendo al gobernador Schwarzenegger que promueva la creación de una red de áreas marinas protegidas en California.

Esto demuestra que los latinos tenemos gran aprecio por la naturaleza y los océanos, pero más importante aún, que nuestra opinión cuenta.

Este es sólo el inicio de una larga campaña por California en donde haremos la voz de la comunidad latina pronunciarse en favor de la defensa del mar.

Los Tigres del Norte defend the sea

Los Tigres del Norte were at the San Diego Convention Center last Saturday May the 27th, and we could not let that great opportunity pass. WiLDCOAST’s staff, along with 5 volunteers, showed the Los Tigres’s fans our new campaign “Defend the Sea”, and 150 concert-goers signed letters to Governor Schwarzenegger asking him to support the creation of a network of marine protected areas in California.

The success of the campaign proved that Latinos care about the environment and oceans and that their opinion counts.

This is just the beginning of a long campaign in California, where we will make the voice of Hispanic communities be heard in support of the defense of the sea.
