granted to Hansa Urbana for the construction of a mega-development in Cabo
Pulmo, Baja California Sur, based on demands from academics and several
civil society groups, that claim that this project violates several laws,
and contains serious errors.

A recent decision by the US EPA supports the restoration of channelized rivers. The Tijuana River is being targeted for more concrete flood control channels. These projects need to be stopped. We should take a lesson from the LA River and not repeat the mistakes of the past. We need to restore our rivers, not encase them in concrete. |

However, the same government once responsible for protecting and reviving this extremely important ecosystem is now granting permission to an enormous development project- Cabo Cortés- that will destroy the only living coral reef in the northern part of the American continent. |
