CRAPCHUTE: Northern Baja's Dirty Development PDF Print E-mail

Recent video shot in Northern Baja at a beach notorious for poor water quality.

A coastal development boom in Northern Baja California, Mexico is fast outpacing the capacity of sewage collection and treatment infrastructure. Contaminated wastewater and sewage flows pose a major threat to the coastal ecosystem and the health of local residents and visitors.

Discharges from these developments must be regulated and a water testing program and warning system implemented to protect the public health of ocean users and residents.
