Discover Otay Valley Regional Park Day

Join WILDCOAST for our 6th annual Discover Otay Valley Regional Park Day!! 


9:30 am - 1:00 pm, SATURDAY MAY 21, 2016

BRING THE KIDS AND THE CLASSROOM! And enjoy a fun filled day in the Otay Valley Regional

Park.  Local conservation organizations and recreational outfitters will guide nature walks, native plant

walks, and other outdoor and educational activities from the Beyer Blvd. Ranger Station at 2155 Beyer

Blvd. 92154.

This annual event has brought hundreds of community members and youth out to experience the Otay

Valley Regional Park, one of south San Diego’s valuable open space areas.  We hope you can make it out

this year!

Event activities to include (TBD):

 Guided nature walk to identify native plants and recreational park assets

 Native American history and dancing with Eric Runningpath

 Guided hikes with Otay Valley Regional Park Rangers

 See a watershed model and learn how to protect river ecosystems with WILDCOAST

 LIVE reptile handing and displays

 Sign up of future habitat and ecological restoration volunteer events

 Games, prizes and inspirational speakers, including local elected officials who have been crucial

in the conservation of the Otay Valley Regional Park.  

 Native plant give-aways with Terra Bella Nurseries

 Talk to the Girl Scouts of America and find out how to get your girls involved
