Southern Mexico Coordinator

Sergio Flores is the second half of the dynamic duo residing in Acapulco. He is responsible for developing campaign themes towards environmental protection. Notable campaigns of his defended the Bay of Acapulco and Zihuatanejo which are sites of threatened sea turtle populations.

Since joining, Sergio has been an honorary member of WiLDCOAST. This is in part of his conservation actions undertaken in the Mexican states of Michoacan, Oaxaca and Guerrero where he was able to consolidate projects that protected sea turtles in coordination with the Canada Fund, Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga and CONANP.

Over the course of his career, Sergio worked as the correspondent of Radio Network, Reforma Newspaper and AP international agency photographer and videographer. He is a brilliant reporter and you know what they say…You can kick the reporter out of a newspaper, but you cannot take the newspaper out of the reporter. 

Sergio is a faculty member of Political and Social Sciences and holds a degree in Communication from the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
