Paloma Aguirre
Program Manager: U.S.- Mex Border Coastal
Paloma manages a striking arrangement of WiLDCOAST programs to protect and conserve the coastal ecosystems in the immediate U.S. – Mexico boarder area. Her most recent endeavor was leading the Canon Limpio project in Tijuana's Los Laureles Canyon; a project which strengthened the community’s capacity for improved solid waste management. She works day in and day out to improve ocean water quality in south San Diego beaches and to cleanup and restore the Tijuana River.
Paloma’s WiLDCOAST beginnings arose from her volunteering with our 2005 Clean Water Campaign. She worked as a community organizer for social justice and was a key player in the success of campaigns that benefited low income families in south San Diego.
Paloma received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of San Diego and is a native Spanish speaker. In her leisure time, Paloma competes in bodyboarding (not boogieboarder) and is a passionate advocate for ocean conservation.
